Suggested Answer
You would have heard of most of them especially if you live in the Western world. Some of them are long gone but their legacy continues to survive their graves. Their name or reputation, I think, is derived from:
- The involvement of the Midheaven which raises them to the public eye; and
- Their willingness to be and embrace their uniqueness and follow their own paths in life - an Uranian trait.
This post looks at the second criterion - how is the planet Uranus involved? I extracted the aspects made to Uranus of these people from Astrotheme and found that at least one of their personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) has a tight aspect (< 1°) to Uranus. Certainly the sample size is insufficient to make this into statistically valid. However, it's interesting to see that Uranus, the planet of individualistic freedom, is certainly alive in the charts of these individuals.
What is also interesting is that those with flowing aspects i.e. trine, sextile don't seem particularly iconoclastic as compared to those with dynamic aspects. This is in line with what I understand from Arroyo that those with flowing aspects seem content to be different (and may not do much about it) while those with dynamic aspects tend to be impelled to be different and usually stick out like a sore thumb.
So now onto you. Do you have any personal planets or the Midheaven or Ascendent making an aspect to Uranus?
Some of you may be thinking "Would having a personal planet, Midheaven or Ascendent in Aquarius e.g. Sun in Aquarius have a similar effect to e.g. Sun aspecting Uranus?" I think there are some common threads between the two e.g. both are inclined to radical and progressive ideas; both leans towards being logical and unfeeling. However, there are also some differences - Uranus is much more high individualistic than Aquarius which finds it place in groups. Uranus could be antisocial as well. Uranus also seems to love freedom more than Aquarius. Finally, Aquarius is ruled by Saturn as well, giving it an earthy dimension which is not found in Uranus.
