- The first type is for fun and relaxation or for sex - I once knew somebody who planned a holiday months in advance mainly to get laid. Actually, the guy Colin in the movie "Love Actually" travelled to mid-west USA to get laid. So there you go. When I think of recreational travel, I think of beach holidays and holiday resorts where you lie on the beach or next to the swimming pool with a pina colada in your hand.
- The second type is to broaden your mind. It is to expose yourself to experiences that are foreign to you - different cultures, languages, food, transportation, history, people, etc. This kind of travel can be more strenuous than the first type as you go out to see and do things which can be fun. The main objective to learn and discover more things.
